Our tutors are highly experienced and academically strong. Many are qualified teachers with years of classroom experience and a deep understanding of the curriculum. At primary level, our specialists prepare students for 4+,7+, 8+, 11+ and 13+ entrance exams. At senior level, tutors are subject experts, with many also working as examiners for national examination boards. We also offer targeted preparation for competitive school entrance exams, including academic scholarships and other specialist admissions routes.
We are proud to offer a Specialised Language Hub, delivering expert tuition across a wide range of languages. Lessons are available for academic study, exam preparation, or conversational fluency. Our language tutors are native or fluent speakers with strong cultural and linguistic knowledge, creating an immersive and authentic learning experience.
All tutors are selected through a rigorous vetting process. Academic tutors hold strong degrees and have several years of relevant teaching or tutoring experience, often across both independent and state sectors. Each tutor completes a thorough interview and reference check to ensure they meet our high standards and values. We also work with dedicated SEND specialists, qualified to support students with dyslexia and a range of additional learning needs.
4+, 7+ and 8+
There are various prep school entry points in this age group. Assessments for younger years at 4+ are usually informal such as group play with peers.
From 7+ And 8+, assessments in schools are in core subjects such as English, Maths, Verbal and non-Verbal Reasoning.
11+ and 13+ Common Entrance
Many senior schools use the ISEB pre-tests and the 11+ system for entry. ISEB pre-tests focus on Maths, English, verbal and non-reasoning.
Senior schools also use the 13+ Common Entrance (CE) assessment route for entry. These contain three compulsory papers: English, mathematics and science. In addition, pupils usually attempt papers in a wide range of subjects from French, Spanish, geography, German, Classical Greek, history, Latin and TPR. Our tutors can also cater for the scholarship route of entry at 13+.

Once we have a clear understanding of your requirements, we will guide you through the admission processes and academic expectations, ethos, facilities, history and pastoral provisions of the selected schools.
Help with school interviews
Lots of schools include an interview as part of their entry process. This can seem like a daunting extra step, but our friendly academic consultants at Belfort Education offer interview practice to a wide variety of schools. We work with your child to build their confidence and communication skills.
GCSE and IGCSE
Our tuition services include preparation for the following public exams for all exam boards; GCSE and IGCSE. Our tutors have a wealth of experience preparing students for assessments with the different exam boards: OCR, Edexcel, CIE, AQA etc.
A Level
The transition from GCSE to A-level can be challenging, whereas the GCSE subjects cover broader topics, A-levels focus more in-depth and require students to have a deeper understanding. Our tutors are here to support you on your A-level journey.
